Overview

Bancontact QR is the QR payment scheme of Bancontact (formerly Mister Cash), Belgium's dominant domestic card payment network. Bancontact is used by the majority of Belgian merchants and consumers for in-store and online payments. Bancontact QR enables merchants to display a QR code that customers scan with their banking app to initiate a Bancontact payment.

QR Format

Bancontact QR uses QR Code symbology with a Bancontact-specific UR payload (URL QR). The QR payload contains the merchant ID, transaction amount, and Bancontact payment reference. Bancontact QR is interoperable with all Belgian banks that support Bancontact mobile payments.
