BHIM QR

Overview

BHIM QR (Bharat Interface for Money QR) is India's national UPI QR payment standard, developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) under the Pradhan Mantri Bharat UMI (BHIM) initiative. BHIM QR enables merchants to accept UPI payments via a static QR code that customers scan with any UPI-compatible app (Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay India, BHIM app, etc.). BHIM QR is fully interoperable with all UPI QR standards in India.

QR Format

BHIM QR uses QR Code symbology with UPI UR payloads (URL QR). The QR payload follows the UPI 1.0/2.0 UR specification containing the merchant's VPA (Virtual Payment Address), merchant name, and transaction ID. BHIM QR is fully interoperable with PhonePe QR, Paytm QR, and all other UPI QR standards.
