Overview
SuperQi is Iraq's first super-app, launched July 2024 through a partnership between Iraq's largest digital-financial-services provider (International Smart Card / Qi Card) + Ant International [1, 2, [iq-cro]]. SuperQi was developed as part of the digital revolution Iraq is leading in the Middle East, providing innovative, advanced + secure digital experience that fuses Western digital banking with Asian super-app practices. Built on Ant International's Alipay+ Wallet Tech (the same white-label super-app infrastructure powering 30+ wallets globally), SuperQi delivers payments, lending, savings, e-commerce, and government services within a single Iraqi-localised app.
The structural significance: SuperQi is Iraq's first true super-app — a market dominated previously by Qi Card's card + government-payment infrastructure rather than full digital ecosystem. Qi Card is Iraq's largest financial-card issuer (used for government salary disbursement, social-welfare payments, retiree pensions across Iraq) — partnering with Ant International leverages Qi's distribution + Ant's super-app technology.
